Video: Ricciardo gets schooled in racing by Felipe Massa’s 6 year old son

Daniel Ricciardo has been beaten in a go kart race with Felipinho Massa, son of usual rival Felipe. Massa & Ricciardo have been embroiled in a controversial and engrossing battle of wits on social media this week, with Massa Junior calling out his father’s racing rival Ricciardo.

Responding to the challenge, an obviously aggrieved Ricciardo said: “I’m sick of being bullied by @massafelipe19 kid Felipinho. The amount of smack he talks has gotten out of control. I have accepted his go kart challenge and will be bringing all the 🔥 I have! 😜”

The race was held at Massa’s home in Monaco, and saw the pair line up in identical machinery for ten laps around the veranda. While initial practice suggested that Ricciardo would hold the advantage over the race distance, it was Massa who sprang off the line to lead into the first turn. He never gave up his advantage and led home a distraught Australian.

Replays of the race can be watched below.

Comments from Ricciardo afterwards suggest that he feels he was beaten by the better man on the day: “Dang it. Got beat. The little man taught me a thing or two. May see him in a bigger type of race car in years to come #FELIPINHOvsRICCIARDO”
