France and Germany will return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2018, which was released on Monday.
The French Grand Prix will make a reappearance at Paul Ricard on June 24, and will form a triple header with the Austria and Britain as the calendar expands to 21 races once again.
Hockenheim will host the German Grand Prix after a year’s hiatus, and will be followed by Hungary as the final race before the summer break as it did in 2016.
Liberty Media’s Chase Carey pointed out that the triple header was created to avoid a clash with the World Cup final.
The FIA are also pushing for fewer clashes with its main events, such as the World Endurance Championship and Formula E, with Carey also keen to avoid clashes with MotoGP.
The season will start on March 25 with Melbourne continuing to host the opening round of the year.
Azerbaijan has been moved from its June slot to late April before the start of the European season in Barcelona, with Russia being pushed back to September to form a back to back with the Japanese Grand Prix.
Abu Dhabi will continue to host the season finale on November 25.
