Haas will retain Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen as its driver line-up for 2018, says team owner Gene Haas.
Speaking to the official Formula 1 website, Haas said that it was inevitable that the team would not change drivers for next season.
“We will run with the same drivers that we have this year again next year. That is a given,” he said.
“And given the other continuity aspects, we should be better racers next season.”
Grosjean joined the American team for its inaugural season in 2016, and despite his intentions of eventually picking up a seat at Ferrari, who Haas have a technical partnership with, will stay for a third season.
Magnussen will be entering his second year with the team next season after replacing Esteban Gutierrez.
Ferrari test driver Antonio Giovinazzi was rumoured to be taking a full-time seat in F1 next year, after making two appearances for Sauber at the beginning of the year in an injured Pascal Wehrlein’s place.
Formula 2 hot shot and Ferrari Academy Driver Charles Leclerc has also been lined the team, but both will have to look at further test and reserve roles for 2018 unless Sauber continue their partnership with Ferrari.
After Grosjean’s sixth place in Austria, Haas have 29 points in the constructors’ championship; as many as they scored in the entirety of the 2016 season.
“We now have 29 points. Last year around this time we also had 29 points, but did not score for the rest of the season,” Haas said.
“So now if we can score another 29 points by Abu Dhabi, that would be a great position.”
