Haas will reveal their 2020 challenger in the pitlane on the opening morning of the first test in Spain on February 19th.
Haas have become the latest team to announce their car launch plans ahead of the 2020 Formula 1 World Championship.
The American team will take the covers off their Dallara-designed VF20 on February 19th, in the pitlane of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This will take place at 8am on the opening morning of testing, with the session going green at 9am.
This means that Haas join Alfa Romeo in a pitlane car launch, with Alfa revealing their C39 at 8:15am.
Haas have favoured this car launch approach since their entry to the sport in 2016, although held a ‘livery launch’ last year in late January.
Retaining their driver line-up of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen for a fourth consecutive season together, Haas are expected to return to their ‘traditional’ colour scheme of white/grey, black and red. This is after a season where the team turned black and gold in deference to an ill-fated title sponsorship agreement with Rich Energy – a UK based energy drinks company. That deal came to an end midway through the 2019 season, in the midst of constant legal issues for the sponsor.
Haas will be hoping for a return to the upper midfield this season, having struggled to ever understand their truculent VF19. They finished in P9 in the Constructor’s Championship in 2019.
