Three teams, including McLaren carried out Pirelli tyre testing on Wednesday, spread out over two venues in France & the UK.
With Pirelli now fully immersed in their testing program ahead of 2018, three teams were deployed to carry out compound testing. In the UK, Haas & Williams carried on from where they left off on Tuesday at Silverstone. Antonio Giovinazzi & Lance Stroll were at the wheels of the respective cars, with the pair clocking up 103 laps between them. Unlike the first day, where the weather stayed dry and warm throughout, rain hit Silverstone, meaning the teams ran Intermediate & Wet compounds as well as slicks.
At Magny-Cours in France, McLaren’s Stoffel Vandoorne had the track to himself all day, and he clocked up 135 laps with the full Wets, testing the 2018 prototype.
While Haas & Williams pack up and go home after Wednesday’s running, McLaren continue at Magny Cours on Thursday.
