Reigning constructors’ champions Mercedes have confirmed the launch date of the W09, which will be unveiled on the same day as rivals Ferrari.
The Mercedes W09 EQ+ Power will be shown to the public for the first time on February 22nd, although the team are keen to avoid any timing clashes with rivals Ferrari, who are set to show their 2018 car on the same day.
Following an online launch, the team intend to complete one of their permitted shakedown sessions at Silverstone, where Lewis Hamilton and/or Valtteri Bottas will complete 100 kilometres in the new car.
Meanwhile, McLaren confirmed via Twitter that they will unveil their 2018 car – the McLaren MCL33 – just one day later on February 23rd, although details about their launch are yet to be confirmed.
