McLaren have confirmed the signing of two new sponsors ahead of the 2020 Formula 1 World Championship.
McLaren have signed two new sponsors this week, announcing the signing of the new deals ahead of the 2020 launch season beginning next week.
The British team have signed Darktrace as their official AI Cyber Security Partner, with McLaren saying the partnership will involve a technical integrations of Darktrace’s cyber artificial intelligence right across the McLaren Group and the racing team to protect against online attacks.
Darktrace branding will be on the rear wing of the MCL35 and on the racesuits of both Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz.
“We’re proud to welcome Darktrace for the first time into the fast-moving world of Formula 1 and to the McLaren Racing partner family.” said CEO Zak Brown. “Data is the lifeblood of our racing strategy and so strong cyber resilience is key to our success on the tracks. We look forward to starting our partnership together this season as Darktrace’s Cyber AI will, for the first time, allow our infrastructure to be self-defending.”
McLaren have also signed Splunk, with the ‘Data-to-Everything’ platform signed as a Technology Partner.
Splunk will capture data from across the team’s infrastructure, network and server environment and from across the McLaren Racing function, including the team’s Formula 1 cars, to help them accelerate performance development across the group.
Splunk’s logo will be on the sidepod and cockpit surrounds of the 2020 MCL35. The new car is set to be launched on February 13th.
