First Images of Williams’ 2017 Car Revealed

Williams have revealed images of their car to compete in the 2017 season, the Mercedes-powered FW40.

With increasing anticipation over the aesthetics of the 2017 Formula One cars, the Grove team are the first outfit to reveal images of a 2017-specification car.

The regulations have been modified for the 2017 season in order to make cars wider and improve the levels of downforce, increasing lap times by 3-5 seconds.

The new rules are also set to impact the ‘look’ of Formula One, with the cars expected to have a much racier image.

The images provided by Williams adhere to expectations, but their full car launch will take place on 25th February.

The first official car launch takes place on 20th February when Sauber are scheduled to reveal their 2017 car, the C36.

Williams head into the 2017 season with a tweaked driver line-up. With Valtteri Bottas moving to Mercedes, Felipe Massa has reversed his decision to retire in order to partner rookie Lance Stroll, who stormed to the European Formula Three Championship last season.

They finished the 2016 season in fifth place having been beaten by Mercedes, Red Bull Racing, Ferrari and Force India.
