Sauber pour cold water on Wehrlein injury reports

Sauber have dampened speculation that new signing Pascal Wehrlein is suffering from a neck injury. The former Manor driver was signed by Sauber last month, and resumed racing after the winter break by taking part in the Race of Champions. However, a crash that sidelined him from finishing the event appears to have had longer lasting effects than initially anticipated.

Speculation has been rife that the German driver has suffered a neck injury, and has apparently undergone a series of tests with mixed diagnoses. As a result, rumour has suggested he will be unable to take part in the first test.

Sauber have since moved to quell the rumours, by stating that it is ‘pure speculation’, and added that they will reveal more information soon.
