Lando Norris’ management company have confirmed that the McLaren driver has not switched the management of his career over to Mercedes.
Rumours from Italy on Thursday suggested that Lando Norris had signed a deal to hand over management of his Formula 1 career to Mercedes. The suggestion was that this move had come about as a result of the re-kindling of the McLaren-Mercedes partnership announced last week. McLaren are confirmed as returning to Mercedes-Benz power from 2021.
It’s not unheard of for a driver with another team to be managed by Mercedes – Esteban Ocon will be a Renault driver next season, but will remain managed by Mercedes.
However, in Norris’ case, existing management ADD say there is ‘no truth’ to the story that Norris has swapped to Mercedes.
A spokesperson for the company told FormulaSpy: “The rumours are false and Lando is not managed by Merc.”
“Lando has a multi year contract with McLaren. Lando is still managed by ADD and has a multi year contract in place with us. So nothing has changed in any respect and all rumours are totally false.”
