The Racing Point team will take the covers off their new car on the 13th February.
The former Force India team, now renamed as Racing Point, will reveal their new car and naming nomenclature at the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto on February 13th.
The Force India cars have all been named ‘VJM’ up until this point, named after former team owner Dr Vijay Mallya. However, the team was sold on during the 2018 season to the new owners – the ‘Racing Point’ consortium led by Canadian businessman Lawrence Stroll, meaning a new chassis designation is likely.
Stroll’s son Lance will drive one of the cars, with Sergio Perez remaining with the team for another season. While the FIA entry list has named the team as ‘Racing Point’, there remains a possibility the team will be renamed again before the 2019 season begins.
Racing Point become the second team to announce their 2019 launch date, with Ferrari revealing their launch is set for the 15th of February.
