Sauber to launch new car on opening morning of testing

The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team will take the covers off their new car forty minutes before testing begins for 2019.

Sauber will take the covers off their new car, dubbed the C38, at a circuit launch. It’s due to be held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with the covers coming off at 8.20am on the opening morning of pre-season testing on the 18th of February.

The car will be driven by Kimi Raikkonen, who returns to the team 18 years after making his debut with the Swiss squad in 2001, as well as young Italian driver Antonio Giovinazzi.

The team haven’t yet confirmed their test line-up for the opening four days of testing from February 18th-21st, although driving duties are likely to be split evenly between the pair.

Sauber say more information regarding the launch will be announced prior to the event.

They are now the fifth team to announce their launch date, joining McLaren, Renault, Racing Point & Ferrari.
