Alpha Tauri, formerly known as Toro Rosso, will launch their 2020 season at the Hangar 7 facility in Austria on Friday evening.
Alpha Tauri is the new name for the Toro Rosso team, whose name has vanished from Formula 1 after 14 years. Red Bull have opted to rebrand the team in order to promote their new fashion and clothing brand Alpha Tauri, which will also be formally launched at the F1 car launch.
The new car livery will be revealed at 7pm GMT at the Hangar 7 complex belonging to Red Bull in Austria, with the car itself revealed at a shakedown in Italy on Saturday.
Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat will be at hand to pull the covers from the new look car, which Alpha Tauri have teased as having a new livery – a dark carbon/black livery has been hinted at.
Aside from the name, nothing else changes for the former Toro Rosso squad, who will remain based in Faenza in Italy under the leadership of Franz Tost.
The Alpha Tauri team are streaming their car launch live on their social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter, as well as on YouTube. You can watch the live stream below.
Earlier on Friday, Mercedes launched their new W11 at Silverstone. Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas both had the opportunity to sample the car at the team’s filming day. Check out the pictures here.
After Alpha Tauri, there’s no car launches over the weekend. The next launches are on Monday, when Williams and Racing Point reveal their new 2020 cars. Haas, Alfa Romeo and Renault will then show off their new cars in the pitlane in Barcelona just before pre-season testing gets started on Wednesday. All three of these teams have already offered initial looks at their new cars through digital renders and shakedowns.
