Russian Grand Prix – Sebastian Vettel gave Ferrari a practice clean sweep by leading team-mate Kimi Raikkonen in free practice three.
The championship leader chipped time off his own benchmark from yesterday’s running by setting a 1:34.001 on a qualifying simulation.
Team-mate Kimi Raikkonen followed up by setting a time 0.337 of a second away from the target time, giving Ferrari back-to-back practice 1-2 finishes.
Fellow Finn Valtteri Bottas finished just behind in third place, with fellow Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton in fourth and over half a second away.
There was almost a full second between Hamilton and fifth-placed Max Verstappen, whose Red Bull ended up 1.5 seconds off the pace and narrowly ahead of Williams’ Felipe Massa.
Renault’s Nico Hulkenberg finished the session in seventh place ahead of Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo, who suffered from power unit issues in the final moments of the hour-long session.
Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas) completed the top ten, whilst Jolyon Palmer was also suffering from Renault-based problems and was unable to set a lap.
Daniil Kvyat and Romain Grosjean continued to struggle with their respective Toro Rosso and Haas cars. Kvyat spun early on in the session and Grosjean still appeared to have difficulties with the balance of the car under braking.
