Azerbaijan Grand Prix – The two championship protagonists Sebastian Vettel & Lewis Hamilton are under investigation after making contact during a Safety Car period.
Update: Sebastian Vettel is ahead of Lewis Hamilton on track after serving a ten second penalty for ‘dangerous driving’ under the Safety Car. Hamilton was forced to pit due to a loose head rest on his car, while Vettel came out on track ahead of Hamilton as a result.
Original: Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton was leading the race ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel under the Safety Car on Lap 20 when the Ferrari driver ran into the back of the Mercedes at low speed through Turn 15.
Clearly enraged, Vettel seemed to feel he had been brake tested and drove alongside the Mercedes before turning in and whacking his wheels against Hamilton’s.
The race was red flagged moments later due to excess debris on the track, and the FIA have announced that both drivers are under investigation for their respective roles in the incident.
