Following delays in their preseason preparations, Williams have finally been able to send their 2019 car on track to test.
The FW42 was scheduled to run during the third day of the test. However, with building a preparation time, Williams had the car ready for it’s first laps in the afternoon period.
The running of the car has continuously been delayed during the preseason build-up. Initially, the team missed their filming day, before revealing that they will not run on the opening day of the test.
This was then extended to Tuesday (day two of the test), before confirming that they would run on Wednesday.
With rookie George Russell at the wheel of a steady installation lap in the car, the team will now check over the car and hope to return to the track for further tests later on in the afternoon.
Robert Kubica will take over for the fourth and final day of the first test, whilst the scheduled running for reserve driver Nicolas Latifi has already been abandoned.
