McLaren will reveal their new car on February 14th.
The McLaren team have announced their launch date for their new car. Christened the MCL34, the new car breaks cover on February 14th.
Taking to social media, McLaren put up a post to reflect the date: “Some cars are red, others are blue, On Valentine’s Day, we’ll reveal ours to you.”
At time of writing, Renault are the first team to launch, meaning McLaren fall in behind their engine supplier two days later.
The 2019 car will be driven by Spaniard Carlos Sainz, who replaces compatriot Fernando Alonso at the team. Alonso has semi-officially retired from the sport, although hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a future return to F1.
Lando Norris steps up from Formula 2 to get his F1 opportunity by debuting with McLaren, replacing Stoffel Vandoorne. The Belgian driver has departed F1 for Formula E, and is now racing with the HWA Racelab team.
Some cars are red,
Others are blue.
On Valentine’s Day,
We’ll reveal ours to you.
