New race engineers for Magnussen & Grosjean

Both Haas drivers Romain Grosjean & Kevin Magnussen will drive with new race engineers this year.

Haas have confirmed that both of their drivers will have to adjust to new race engineers at the start of this season.

Romain Grosjean’s new engineer will be Dominic Haines, who worked as Romain’s performance engineer from 2016. Prior to joining Haas, Haines was with Lotus and worked as an engineering co-ordinator and strategist.

Kevin Magnussen will be working with Gary Gannon, who was Grosjean’s race engineer since Haas’ entry in 2016. Gannon has a wealth of experience to draw upon, joining Haas from Marussia and, prior to that, working with Wirth Research and Honda’s ALMS & CART programs for over ten years.

The reason for the switches is due to the departure of Magnussen’s engineer Giuliano Salvi, who worked with the Dane in 2017 & 2018 and with Esteban Gutierrez in Haas’ debut year. Salvi worked with Haas as part of Ferrari’s power unit supply agreement, but has departed Haas to rejoin Ferrari’s works effort and move back to his native Italy.
