Sauber announce wave of new sponsorship partners

Swiss team reveal new backers ahead of 2018 campaign

Sauber have revealed a host of new sponsors for the 2018 season on the launch day of their new car, the Sauber C37.

The Swiss team’s bid to return to Formula One competitiveness has been boosted by the addition of key partners for the 2018 season.

This year marks the return of Alfa Romeo to Formula One, with the Italian manufacturers linking up with the Sauber team and becoming title sponsors, prompting a new livery for the year ahead.

The new partnership, along with the addition of Ferrari protégé Charles Leclerc, has encouraged additional partners to join the team.

Italian sportswear brand Kappa and Italy-based eyewear brand Carrera join the team alongside a brand previously seen on other Formula One cars; Swiss watch manufacturers Richard Mille.

Kappa will supply the race team and drivers with the official team gear. The Kappa logo will be featured on the headrest of the two C37, as well as the race overalls of the team’s two drivers.

Carrera will supply the race team and drivers with sunglasses and optical frames. The Carrera logo will be featured on the sides of the monocoques of the two C37, on the sides of the visor of the two drivers’ race helmets, and on their race overalls.

Charles Leclerc’s career in the junior categories has been backed by Richard Mille and his association with the brand continues into 2018.

The Richard Mille logo will be featured on the sides of the monocoques of both C37, as well as on the team gear and driver overalls.

Richard Mille, CEO of Richard Mille commented:

“As both a passionate aficionado and long-time advocate of motorsport, I’m incredibly pleased and proud to announce our partnership with the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team and accompany Marcus Ericsson and Charles Leclerc, who has been a member of the Richard Mille family for several years, for their upcoming season in Formula 1.”
