Austrian Grand Prix – Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen’s pass for the lead towards the end of Sunday’s race is being investigated by race stewards.
The Dutch driver was electric in the second half of the race, coming alive after his sole pitstop to catch and pass the likes of Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas, Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and then catching and passing the other Ferrari of Charles Leclerc with three laps to go.
However, the overtake has been seen as controversial, due to Verstappen closing the door on Charles Leclerc leaving the corner. The incident has gone to the stewards, who will now review the incident and decide whether to apply a penalty.
