Sebastian Vettel has signed an extension to his Ferrari contract which will see him stay with the Italian team until the end of the 2020 season.
The four-time world champion’s current deal was set to expire at the end of this season, prompting speculation about his future.
However, Vettel has elected to stay with Ferrari for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons.
This news comes just days after Kimi Raikkonen was confirmed to have signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him with the team for the 2018 season.
Vettel joined Ferrari from Red Bull Racing for the start of 2015, winning in only his second race. However, this season has been Ferrari’s most successful during his time at the team, with both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships up for grabs.
He currently holds a fourteen-point lead over Lewis Hamilton in the drivers’ championship.
