Monaco ePrix – Mahindra driver Felix Rosenqvist says his team is at its peak performance as Formula E enters its European leg of the season.
“The speed of the car is better than ever: our race in Mexico was so much stronger than the first races this season,” he said but admitted that, as ever with the Monaco track, qualifying will be key to any success.
“In Monaco, we need to get a good lap in qualifying to start in the top five. We want to avoid any mess at the first corner and if we start in clean air, we have a greater chance of a strong result.”
While Rosenqvist is making his Monaco single-seater debut, team mate Nick Heidfeld has scored a podium in Formula 3, F3000 and Formula 1. His expectations for the weekend are equally as high:
“We have shown good pace but we are definitely targeting more points than we’ve had in the last two races!” he said.
“I’m all fired up for a good result, and with the M3Electro this year we have a better chance of winning.
“While there is limited scope for development I feel the team has worked well to close the margin more and more.”
Mahindra began the season with two podium finishes and a pole position in the first two races, but have struggled for pace in comparison.
Combined with reliability problems in Buenos Aires it means Mahindra has scored just one point in the last two races.
