Montreal ePrix – DS Virgin Racing are looking to continue their success in North America by securing victories at the season-ending races in Montreal.
Following a hugely successful weekend for Sam Bird at the inaugural New York ePrixs, Virgin Racing are optimistic of adding more wins at the double-header in Montreal.
The DS Virgin Racing took pole position for both races and claimed back-to-back victories in New York.
Previewing the Montreal ePrix, Bird believed that there was no reason more wins could not be added.
“We want to repeat this form in Montreal; we’ve won two in a row, so why not three or four?”
“New York was just an incredible weekend for us; the team delivered a blindingly quick car with superb energy management so there’s nothing stopping us continuing this performance in Canada.”
DS Performance Director Xavier Mestelan Pinon was equally as optimistic of further success: “After the team’s performance last time out, we want to continue our winning ways in Montreal for the final two rounds.
“The drivers and the engineers have already been working hard in the simulator to learn the track and find that perfect set-up to help us achieve that.”
Bird took a hefty 53 points away from New York, which means that, mathematically, the Briton is still able to win the drivers’ championship. However, he would require championship leader Sebastien Buemi to not score a single point, along with Lucas di Grassi also having a below-par weekend.
