Montreal ePrix – Lucas di Grassi was fastest in first practice ahead of the Montreal ePrix, championship rival Sebastien Buemi was third.
The ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport driver did a time of 1:21.442, and was four tenths ahead of Nico Prost, both of which were full power laps.
Buemi attempted a 200kW lap but went wide at Turn 2, which compromised his time. Antonio Felix da Costa in fourth was the only other driver to complete a qualifying lap in the session.
Felix Rosenqvist was the fastest of the 170kW runners in fifth, ahead of the two DS Virgins of Jose Maria Lopez and Sam Bird.
Mitch Evans was once again inside the top ten for Jaguar ahead of Jerome D’Ambrosio and Jean-Eric Vergne, some 1.5s off di Grassi’s pace.
Daniel Abt locked up at the Turn 11/12 chicane on his full power lap, so was only 11th in the session.
Loic Duval is under investigation after making contact with Nelson Piquet Jr. into Turn 1 when passing the NextEV driver on the inside. Duval ended the session 12th, and Piquet 16th.
