Paris ePrix – Championship leader Sebastien Buemi topped FP1 having been the only driver to set a 200kW lap during the session.
The Swiss driver was the only one to go under 1:02, and was seven tenths of a second clear of Jose Maria Lopez in second, who locked up and ran into the TecPro barriers at Turn 1 early in the session.
Jean-Eric Vergne was third fastest ahead of championship challenger Lucas di Grassi, Felix Rosenqvist and Sam Bird, who were split by less than three hundredths of a second.
Bird had a drama early on, stopping on track at Turn 1 just two minutes into the session. A broken radio meant the team was unable to talk him through the restart procedure, meaning he was forced to get out of the car and the session was briefly red flagged while the recovered the stricken DS Virgin.
Mike Conway was seventh on his return to Formula E, standing in for Loic Duval for has DTM commitments. Also standing in is Tom Dillmann for Maro Engel at Venturi, he finished the session in seventeenth.
Nelson Piquet, Nick Heidfeld and Nico Prost completed the top ten.
Daniel Abt was thirteenth and was struggling to slow his car down for Turn 1, having to use the escape road at one point after a lock up; a moment that his team mate a few minutes before.
Esteban Gutierrez also had to use the escape road, this time at Turn 8 when he realised he carried too much speed into the corner. He finished the session in eighteenth place.
