Paris ePrix – Esteban Gutierrez says he is happy with the progressive he has made in his first two Formula E races, but is still looking to improve.
The Mexican finished tenth in his first Formula E race in Mexico to score a point on his debut, a feat made all the more impressive when Techeetah discovered shortly afterwards that he was racing with a damaged chassis.
Gutierrez then finished eighth in Monaco, a result which put him ahead of both Jaguar drivers in the championship standings.
“I’m happy but not completely satisfied, I’m obviously looking for more. I think it’s coming together step by step every time I jump in the car,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to getting fully comfortable with the car and being able to get the maximum from it.
“It’s all a matter of having the right package. Obviously as a team to find the consistency is a crucial point to achieve the results we want to achieve.”
After replacing Ma Qing Hua, Gutierrez says it is too early to think about next season just yet, saying more news will come in the following months:
“Honestly I don’t have that in mind yet. I’m just going as it is at the moment and seeing what opportunities come up.”
