Mahindra Racing have confirmed their line-up for season four of the Formula E Championship, continuing to partner Nick Heidfeld with Felix Rosenqvist.
Following a competitive season, which saw the team claim one win and ten podiums en route to third place in the Teams’ Championship, Mahindra have set their sights on competing for both championships in season four.
This will be the first time the team have chosen to retain both drivers across seasons, having used Karun Chandhok and Bruno Senna across the first two seasons.
Team principal Dilbagh Gill was bullish about the team’s aims for next season, targeting wins and championship battles.
“We’re thrilled that both Nick and Felix will remain with Mahindra Racing next season,” said Gill. “With them, we’re confident that our new race car, the M4Electro will prove to be our strongest yet and Mahindra will consistently be fighting at the front of the field for wins and championships.”
Nick Heidfeld has been part of the Formula E Championship from the beginning, missing only one round in season two due to an injury.
He competed with Venturi during season one, claiming one podium and spectacularly crashing out of the inaugural Formula E race, which he looked set to win.
He switched to Mahindra for season two and has picked up six podiums in two seasons.
Felix Rosenqvist joined the series for season three and was quickly on the pace. He secured his and Mahindra’s first Formula E win in Berlin, one pole position and four more podiums, taking third place in the drivers’ standings.
