Buenos Aires ePrix – Jose Maris Lopez has named a renewed confidence in his energy management ability helped him on his recovery drive at his home race.
Lopez started at the back of the grid after crashing his DS Virgin in qualifying, sliding through the Turn 6 left-hander and hitting the wall.
Despite this, Lopez was able to work his way through the field to score a point in front of his home crowd with a tenth place finish.
“I enjoyed moving through the pack today in front of a home crowd,” he said.
“I have renewed confidence in my energy management, and I’m growing in confidence and aggression with every minute I spend in the DSV-02.”
Lopez was able to stretch out his first stint by an extra lap, meaning he could push harder in the second half of the race which saw him go from 15th to his finishing position of tenth.
Although DS Virgin arguably did not reach their full potential with the pace they showed in Buenos Aires, Team Principal Alex Tai is happy with Lopez’s progress in the early .Sp5rl!47rs of his Formula E career:
“I’m delighted with the continuing development of Pechito, the racer in him was truly evident today, I am confident that we will see him gaining racing honours this season.”
