Rosenqvist heads Mahindra 1-2 ahead of qualifying – FP2 Report

New York ePrix – Felix Rosenqvist was fastest in second practice ahead of his Mahindra team mate Nick Heidfeld.

The Swede did a lap time of 1:02.423 but broke his right-rear suspension during that lap after hitting the barrier on the exit of Turn 5, which is shortly followed by the timing line. He was still three tenths ahead of Heidfeld, however.

Championship contender Lucas di Grassi was fifth fastest but ended the session at the side of the track with a battery management system issue. He was half a second away from Rosenqvist’s time.

Nico Prost was third fastest ahead of Sam Bird, both were four tenths off the pace.

Daniel Abt was sixth ahead of Dragon’s Loic Duval, with Mitch Evans making a second top ten appearance of the day for Jaguar.

Robin Frijns was again inside the top ten for Andretti, with FP1 pace-setter Alex Lynn in tenth.

Jean-Eric Vergne struggled for grip during the session and ran off the track at Turn 5 after locking his front brakes. He finished the session 12th, one second off the pace.

Pierre Gasly had a frustrating session as he continues to get to grips with the Renault e.dams. He was 15th fastest in the session after being blocked by Duval on his fastest lap.
