Oliver Rowland will replace Alex Albon at Nissan e.dams for the final day of Formula E pre-season testing in Valencia.
Sebastien Buemi was running solo for the first two days of testing after Albon was removed from the testing schedule after it coming to light he is due to make a switch to the Toro Rosso Formula 1 team, despite already being contracted to e.dams.
His Formula 2 team DAMS is said to have paid something in the region of €2 million for his 2018 F2 season in return for taking the FE drive.
e.dams is understood to be angered by the situation as it has lost valuable running during the test, with the final day’s running being on a wet track which could also reduce the amount of laps completed.
Rowland has previously tested the Gen1 FE car and has entered one race where he stood in for Nick Heidfeld at Mahindra during season two’s Punta del Este race, and for his three seasons in GP2/F2, the last of which was in 2017 with DAMS.
It is unclear if Rowland will go on to race for the team throughout the season.
